The obverse of this bronze medal depicts Charleroi Town Hall ( Charleroi is the third largest city in Belgium situated in the French speaking region). The words "Ville de Charleroi" and the town shield are impressed across the bottom. It is signed "Rau".
The reverse depicts an industrial scene (possibly a colliery) with a partially clad female floating above. There is a rectangular cartouche at bottom of the medal inscribed with the words "De Hulsters Noel Sous-chef de bureau 1940 - 1959"
The rim is stamped but the word is only partially legible - it appears to be the name of the medal maker.
